Scotland has a small but thriving gay and lesbian community which is at its liveliest in the cities, notably, Edinburgh and in Glasgow. Edinburgh boasts the famous 'Pink Triangle' area centred around Broughton Street off York Place. Glasgow has a much bigger gay scene, however straight bars and clubs in both cities hold gay and lesbian nights.

Gay and lesbian visitors can be assured a warm welcome to Scotland, already considered to be one of the friendliest countries in the world.
